Series 2

Episode 1 - Family Flu

The Butler household are struck down with flu apart from Stan and Arthur who are left to do the housework.If that isn't tough enough for Stan, Arthur soon falls ill as well leaving him to cope alone for himself and three invalids whilst going to work and driving his bus as well.

Episode 2 - The Used Combination

Arthur buys a second handmotorbike and sidecar which is the little worse for wear.After much ridicule Stan gets parts from the depot but the bike breaks down on its maiden trip leaving Stan to tow it home on the back of his bus.Everything doesn't go according to plan leaving Stan in further trouble.

Episode 3 - Self-Defence

Stan and Jack are attacked by hooligans and so the bus company decides to put on self-defence lessons with the tutor being Inspector Blake.Stan and Jack aren't interested in attending until attractive clippies sign up for the lessons which persuades them to sign up as well.

Episode 4 - Aunt Maud

Stan's Aunt Maud pays the family a visit.That would be no problem but life is made difficult for Stan and the family when she decides to bring her massive pet dog along landing Stan in trouble with Blakey and disturbing his living arrangements whilst Arthur and Olive are made to feel uncomfortable by Maud's questions as to why they've not started a family yet.

Episode 5 - Late Again

The busy love life and early shifts just don't mix for Stan and he is constantly sleeping in for work.Matters aren't helped when Arthur gets fed up being woken up by Stan's alarm clock and he tampers with the clock.Blakey is on watch as well eager to catch Stan arriving late for work.

Episode 6 - Bon Voyage

The works holiday to Spain is nearing and Stan and Jack are so eager to impress the senoritas that they resort to sunbathing in the cemetery to buff up their suntans but a passing tramp steals Stan's uniform.If that isn't hassle enough Stan is also having problems making sure he takes no excess baggage with him to Spain.

FOOTNOTE

It was at the start of Series 2 that Doris Hare took over the role as Mrs. Butler which she was to make her own over the next six series and three spin-off films.Also there were new opening credits with cartoon style introductions replacing the credits used for the opening series.
